How do we get through the storms of life? The Bible tells us that Jesus is an anchor, that what he has done for us can give us hope in this life and for all eternity. Knowing who he is and what he has done for us can get us through.
The greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, should and strength. How can we do this? The answer is in knowing God in such a way that you know his heart and are naturally desiring to love and serve Him.
Most of us have heard the Old Testament stories as if they are for children only. But God reveals himself to all of us through the stories. For example, Jonah did not want the people of Ninevah to be saved, so he ran away. But God sent a storm, a big fish and did some other miraculous things just so the people of Ninevah could be saved.
Jonah understood the heart of God perfectly. Jonah 4:2 “He prayed to the Lord, “Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity.”
Please join us in telling people around the world about our Lord Jesus Christ and our heavenly Father, that they will come to know him in such as way that they too, will want to follow his ways.
